When choosing your storage shed model it is important to envision the finished product, and choose the structure that best facilitates that. We have provided a guide below to help you match your need with the perfect storage shed.

Man Caves and She Sheds

If you plan on transforming your shed into a man cave or she shed, we recommend starting with our Dormer Storage Shed. The Dormer Shed is the only style that features a third gable above the door, which brings in more natural light and adds a nice stylish touch. Dormer Sheds also feature a unique roofline that offers more headroom, and plenty of space for a couch, TV, desk, and more to transform your shed into a comfortable She Shed or Man Cave. 

Home Office

If you want to transform your storage shed into a Home Office, we suggest our Classic Garden Cottage. This shed will perfectly fit your desk, chair, filing cabinets, and bookcases, with plenty of windows for that perfect working light. Shutters and oversized windows can be customized to feature your existing home, and the steeper roof pitch will add an upscale touch to your property. 

Shed Workshop

Shed workshops are the perfect way to add a secluded place for your woodworking projects, while keeping the sawdust and saw noise outside of your home. For shed workshops we recommend two sheds in our line, depending on your size needs. For a more modest workshop we suggest our Hip Roof storage shed. The lower pitch roof of this shed ensures you have as much room as possible to move around, and leaves plenty of space on the walls to hang tools and projects. 

If you have bigger plans for your workshop we recommend our Two Story Dutch Barn. Our customers love using the second floor for lumber storage and for storing larger tools. The interior has plenty of space for larger woodworking projects, and room to store large tools while still having space to move around.

Peg Board

Peg boards are great for workshops and home offices and allow you to store things on the wall without giving up valuable floor space. They are a great organizational tool, and make a great add-on no matter what you plan to use your storage shed for. 

Loft/Workbench

Our loft/workbench add-on is perfect if you plan on transforming your shed into a workshop. The loft is perfect for storing extra tools and materials, and the workbench is built into the shed wall to save floor space. 

Transom Windows on Doors

Each storage shed we manufacture is available with transom window doors. These are great for bringing in a bit more natural light and adding a stylish touch to the structure. We also offer full glass doors that bring the light of nature into your storage shed. 

Permits and Your Storage Shed

We plan on dedicating a full blog post to shed permits, but we wanted to touch on it here as well. Depending on your county, there may be additional permits required if you plan on using your shed as a living space. 

In New Jersey a shed does not require a permit if it is less than 200 feet and doesn’t contain any utilities. If you plan on using your shed as a living space you will need to acquire a permit from your township.
